I love this story. I highly recommend reading the book or watching the movie as you prepare to go to Malawi. I loved getting a glimpse into the culture and seeing the determination and innovation of a young boy wanting to make a difference for his community.

It is truly inspirational and is a great way to introduce young adventurers to have a view of life and trials on the other side of the world. There is also a children’s version of the book.

It is a quick, easy read and provides a lot of opportunity for family discussions.
